Possible Cycle 24 Sunspot / Solar Flux reaches into the 90's
Amateur Radio News Possible Cycle 24 Sunspot / Solar Flux reaches into the 90's
12/12/2007 by VE3EN at 15:00

The tiny area that has rotated onto the eastern limb does appear to be a Cycle 24 spot. In the first images it did seem to have a tiny spot associated with it. The most recent image "as of this post" appears to be a plage area. In the new magnetogram it does however have the proper magnetic signature to classify it as Cycle 24.

Sunspot 978 remains fairly large, however has only produced numerous low level B-Class flare activity. As of December 11th, the Solar Flux reached 93 and the Sunspot Number was 44. That solar flux number is the highest it has been since December 2006 when then Sunspot 930 was having its way with solar activity.
